Little Toe Amputation Attempt

What else can a little baby do besides getting her finger stuck in weird and unthinkable places? Well... not sure if this is something to be proud of.
Everything was fine and dandy as i got home from work today. Momma Bear was her usual self. Still in hibernation. Gramma went off to do her thing. Leaving the rest home to do their thing. So i ended reading to little Kutu for a bout an hour before dinner started. The usual banter and Kutu pestering everyone for her share of food. Then we left her with Gramma to get her to shower. Not 10 minutes passed and i heard the door being opened with Kutu crying. Came in on Gramma's arm swinging her leg at me.
"Daddy!!! It's bleeding... Look!! My toe is bleeding!!"
And it really was bleeding. Saw a half inch cut on her tiny little toe. With some blood coming out. Gramma was just grinning and shaking her head.
   "What happened this time?"
Seems our little friend her was her usual playful self again. Gramma told her not to pull things off while bathing and typical her. Turn a deaf ear. According to Gramma. She pulled the bucket filled with water off the shelf. And the bucket landed smack right on top of her toe. Hence the cut and the drama. I couldn't decide if i should be scolding her or just laugh at her dramatic look.
Shrugging it off as a minor cut. We went off in search of a band aid for her toe. And our little friend being a drama princess was showing her cut toe to everyone. I mean literally everyone. She was showing it to Gogo and Gigi. Tearing up of course. Then the moment she sees her Grandpa. More tears came pouring out. It looked more like she lost a limb. With tears streaming down sitting on her Grampa's leg. Telling him how it all happen in her own baby language was really scene to smile over.
Finally Gramma produced a little band aid for her toe. Stuck it on and with Grandpa blowing air on to her badly cut toe. She finally got all her attention and stopped crying. Now it's going over to Tuti to show her bandaged toe.
All the while limping. Like she was in a cast. We had a gala time laughing at her dramatic walk and limp. Tuti couldn't stop laughing watching her limp up and down the hall showing everyone her bandaged toe.

Kutu's attempt at self photography
The things a little baby will do to get attention. Sigh....

Om a separate note.We are all in good health. Something of which is i am most thankful for. My back doesn't hurt much now. Holding Kutu is not as painful. Even with her 13kg weight. Gramma is fine. Grampa is also in good health. Only Momma Bear is suffering from her morning sickness. Throws up quite a bit these few days. She was in the doc's today for her weekly check up. Seems the little fella is still not firm on Momma's belly. Doc gave her some pills to encourage the little fella. Fingers crossed that the little fella hangs on. I wouldn't want to lose that little fella.

Scooby Doo...

Last weekend was spent in Sepang Bagan Lalang. Its a beach about 50km from where we are. Momma Bear booked the room months ago not knowing she will be with another kutu. The original plan was to take little Kutu there. But with Momma Bear and Phoebe both turning into monsters, we thought it was best that Gramma tagged along to monitor Phoebe.
The hotel is located very deep inside a malay village. Service from the hotel staffs is excellent. There is a holding hall provided for waiting guest till the rooms are ready. Some food, fruits and drinks provided free flow till your room is ready. They even have throw cushions and toys for the little ones to play with. Gramma was mighty impressed with the service. She is more than adamant that we come back during CNY. Gramma wants the entire clan to come spend CNY here. This is the first time we see her having so much fun in one hotel.
Room is quite a distance away. However the hotel provides buggy service to send guest to their respective rooms. To say the least, everyone was having a good time.
After checking in, we took Phoebe for her sand playing by the beach. Gramma had a gala time watching her little monster play on the beach the first time. We couldn't stop laughing till it was dinner time. Sent the pack off to the room while i went off to buy food. Turns out, Momma Bear suddenly lost all her morning sickness. She finished her dinner for the first time in weeks without throwing up. Phoebe had all her rice. Gramma just couldn't stop smiling.

Even after we came home on Saturday, Gramma was still talking about spending CNY there. Told Momma Bear to search and book it. Since Gramma wants to go there so much.
Now Momma Bear calls herself Scooby Doo. Her nose is really quite amazing. Walking in to the house, she can tell there is durian present. Even before reaching the kitchen. That's how sensitive it has become. Without any hesitation, she insist that i remove it from the house before she went to the toilet to off load all her lunch. It was once her favorite food. Not anymore. This time around, the much requested food has become burgers and thai fried rice. No more Wan Tan Mee or BKT. What are we expecting from the little fella ya? Strange choice for food.
Of course, the shampoo and body lotion has also been banned. Momma Bear showers with only plain water now. No scents allowed. Even me with perfume throws her off track.
How many months more do we have to go on?

Transformation begins..

It's been a week since Momma Bear started morphing into a bloodhound. Painful for me to say the least. Everything smells sweet to her now. From body lotion to shampoos to baby powder. She refuses to even hold the Kutu now. Seems the little one smells too sweet from all the baby powder she has on her.
Of course the vomiting has started. It's nonstop hearing the toilet flush going off. Today its been the same but Momma Bear is not discharging through the mouth. Her bottom is leaking now. Everything is going south.
Watching her hibernate in the room, i cant help but wonder. How is it that pregnancy changes a woman that drastically? From a normal person to this creature with nose like a bloodhound and appetite like a princess. today we had a plate of Nasi Lemak on the table. Half eaten. Then i brought home Chicken Rice. Unopen as of now. Then a friend sent in a bag of Fried Bananas. Also left uneaten as of now. She is totally confused on what she wants to eat. Changes her mind every 2 minutes. I will soon lose my mind.
We were in 1 Utama yesterday for lunch with a friend. Got her a plate of Sizzling Noodles which was her favorite before pregnancy. The moment she saw the egg floating in it. All appetite for it flew out the window. So got her a plate of Fried Phat Thai. Ate like a quarter of it. And that's it. No more can go in. I am gonna end up fat like a pig i tell you. With me finishing up after all her leftover food. Yikeess...
Had s little scare from Momma Bear on Monday. She had a bit of bleeding. So off to the doc's we went. Just to be sure. Took a scan to look at the little fella.

Voila!!!  Heart beat can be seen now. It looks like a little blinking LED within a little balloon. Have to look real hard to be able to see it. The blink comes and goes. Which raises the question. With all sorts of advances in medical tech. Why is it that the bloody ultra sound images still looks like something from World War 1? Is there no way we can have it view in HD?

2nd day of 9 Emperor God Laksa

Yesterday was the 2nd night of Laksa festival at 9 Emperor God's. The whole clan turned up for it. Dad. Mum , me . Phoebe for her first festival and Miki of course. Even Tuti decided she wanted to come attend and see the fun bit.

Seems Phoebe came first in the afternoon with Gramma for a sneak peek. Of course anywhere that she goes. Drama follows. Phoebe insisted she wanted to wave to Thomas each time a train passes by, so she sat at the steps with Tuti waiting for Thomas to come along. After awhile, she became too quiet that Tuti was suspicious. Phoebe got so excited that she did a number 1 right there on the steps. Tuti had to call Gramma for help because Phoebe refuses to budge. Somehow managed to clean her and got her home.
Later that night we all came over to help out. Was busy and crazy like the war zone it has always been for the past 3 years we came to help. Phoebe came with her other Gramma and uncles. Gala time she had. It was up and down looking at dragons and balloons. She ended up getting herself a Donald Duck balloon to go home with. Poor thing was all wet from sweat and running around. No drama there till we got home later that night.
Both Momma Bear and Phoebe was already asleep when we got home at 1 am. Saw all the bed sheet being hung up. Suspected something amiss.
Phoebe was so happy from her outing she decided she needed to throw up on the bed.
Then pee on the bed for good measure.
Momma Bear nearly strangled her for good. Thank goodness they were asleep when i walked in. Thinking this was the last of it. How wrong i was.
I think i slept like 40 minutes last night. Phoebe came up every other hour asking for Ribena . Milk and Godknoswhat... She even decided she wanted to do a Number 1 at 4 am. Which she actually did. Me and Momma Bear nearly fainted form exhaustion... Finally managed to get her to sleep at 5 am.
Turns out Phoebe was not just excited about her outing. She caught a fever and cough. Woke up at 11am. The latest she has done in a long long time. Checked her and her temperature was 39.0 C. Not a good sign. Group discussion done with Momma Bear and Gramma. Decided its best to give her one up the butt....
I wont be surprised if she hates me in the future. Its always me pushing up that pill into her ass when she gets sick. I am always the bad cop.
Another week of playing waiter to go...
No update so far from the little fellow inside Momma Bear. Other than the occasional mamak supper and salted orange peel. It's been smooth sailing for now. Fingers crossed. We are due at the doc's next week. This time to look for the blinking LED- that will be the little fella's heart beat.

Confirmation Round 1

It was off to Doctor Soh for a scan to make sure the little is still hanging around. Surprisingly, the doc actually remembers us from 2 years back. Without asking, he confirms that Momma Bear is actually fat and pregnant. Then he offers to scan us for confirmation.
Bed found. Momma Bear lay herself down. KY Jelly smeared. Here we go...
Moments of suspense is correct. We saw nothing. Momma Bear was turning green. Could it really be just a undigested chicken wing stuck inside instead of a little kutu?
More searching and Doc starts to shake his head saying " It's ok. I will need you to come in again in a weeks time. It's still early. Maybe kutu is shy and hiding. Who knows...WAIT."
" There you go." He pointed at a smear in the screen. Looks more like a blotch to me.
" That's the baby's sac. That's where baby will be cocooned inside for the next 9 months"
Aaahhh.. that makes more sense. Doc is happy. Momma Bear is also happy. And off we go after grinning like new parents. Pheww.. No chicken wing scare this time around. We are due back there in 2 weeks time to search for the blinking LED. That's the baby's heart beat.
It was Tom Yam soup for supper last night... Momma came home full and knocked off within 2 minutes. Could hear her snore contently.

Chapter 2. A new beginning.

Things will get interesting for the next few weeks. Momma Bear just came to me with her Clear Blue Test result. Seems we might be having another round of 9 months midnight feeding all over again.

2 lines on the test kit. I don't know if i should be jumping with joy or weeping in fear. Thoughts of her midnight feeding and request for supper flashed through. The change in shampoo and toothpaste. Body lotion and hair shampoo... Sigh. Scary indeed. Did the test twice in 2 days. Both showing 2 lines. Gramma was super happy to hear about it. Smiling patiently. Dad is totally clueless. Best to keep things like this for the moment i suppose. Vincent Wong and Mr Eng was grinning like proud uncles when we told them over lunch of fried spagetti in Kepong. Beats me why they were so happy.
Went to the temple to get confirmation from the medium. Medium says we need to wait for a couple more days for the kiddo to settle down. Not sure if that is a good sign or he just did not want to commit.
Personally, i am somewhat in a dilemma. On one hand i am happy for a new friend. On the other hand. The thought of the 9 months and following 2 years of potty training scares me a bit. Not saying it is no fun. It is fun actually. I do enjoy it but i suppose looking at Kutupus now. In all her glory, i forget what it was like having a little one as my own.
So we started off with 1 Ramli burger last night for Momma Bear. More to come i guess....
